We’ve all seen the video of the young woman who accidentally burns her hair off while trying to teach her YouTube audience how to curl it. (If you haven’t, it’s in the clip below.) But watch how her attitude has evolved over about 6 months:
What’s amazing about it is her reaction and good-natured ability to giggle at her own mishap. “Burned my hair off then got grounded… no big deal.”
How often do we react poorly to our own mistakes? We try so hard to look perfect in front of staff, campers, and parents. Can’t we just recognize that we have imperfections and do ridiculous things? I, for one, will freely admit that I have a tendency to take myself seriously. This summer, I’ll work on laughing off the “burned hair” moments. What about you?
